I thought I had caught up and then realized I never did a chip for October - so here it is: Kettle Brand Chips - Sea Salt and Vinegar. If you've never had this brand of chip before - go get some. Their "Spicy Thai" are awesome and their salt & vinegar chips are pretty darn good too. I picked these up at Leon's down the street.
Flavor: Kettle Brand are all about the "sea". These chips are flavored heavily with malt vinegar. The flavor is almost creamy, but with a little bit of tang. For people who love tangy S&V chips, these might be too tame, however these chips should not be underestimated for as thick of a chip that they are - they have a lot of flavor.
Texture: Nice and thick - can be greasy at times, but usually have a good balance.
Overall Impression: Love em. Great alongside fish - these chips make me crave Joe Tess.

Can't go wron with Kettle from my experience. Also, why is it that chip makers (most that I can think of) decided to make blue the color to designate their Salt and Vinegar line of potato chip. Tom's, Lay's, Kettle, Pringles, Archer Farms...On your web site three of the five are blue, I'd even say Miss. Vickies is a shade of blue. Why is that?
Because the ocean is blue.
Ditto.
For whatever reason it seems that S&V chips are associated with the deep blue sea, which is my guess as to why they are designate by blue. To me salt and vinegar chips are fish and chips in a chip...
Exactly!! But what about Vinegar? When I pick up a regular Lays chip or what have you I expect the salt. That is why I eat it. The cool thing about the S&V is the V!! I just wish the makers would color coordinate to the V. Vinegar.
Again - I am going to the sea. Vinegar is used in a lot of things as part of a recipe or for pickeling, however it is not often used solely as a condiment. The big time where it is, is malted vinegar on fish and chips => fish => sea => blue. Just a guess on this one.
