this week in beer news

3 items of interest
1) My american-style lager of choice Miller High Life is running 1-second ads at the superbowl, which goes along well with their unpretentious philosophy.

2) The aluminum can turned 50 last Friday. I am going to go out on a limb and say this invention truly improved life for mankind.

3) Since Jason already announced the legislative bid towards ridding the alcohol ban in Nebraska's state parks - I'll just go ahead and mention that there are just 37 days left until EXTREME BEERFEST!

I saw those Fat Tire cans in the store and did a double take. The can kind of reminds me of a tomato juice label or something. But I would still like to try them.

The Miller web site is hilarious. I could spend all day on it.

I agree - something just doesn't feel right about those cans. Too used to the silver and gold I guess.

Haven't tried fat tire out of one yet, but the cans are supposed to do a lot better job of keeping the flavor. Apparently fat tire doesn't have a very long shelf life.

I too enjoy the miller sites. I recently got a high-life patch thanks to their extras program.
